Here a great photographer: Arno Hammacher. In this picture (scanned from a 1989 slide) he is looking at a vineyard on the south slope of the Mount Etna Volcano. He is dutch, but he has lived many years in Italy and he loves Sicily and the Etna. We have made some photography works together, about The Etna Natural Park and about Gibellina, a little town in western Sicily destroyed by an earthquake in 1968, and refounded by the major Ludovico Corrao as an outdoor museum with contributions from many internationally renowned artists.
Despite here he looks like a scarecrow, he is a great artist, and sometimes I have tried to steal the secrets of light in his photos … :)
