Red-breasted Nuthatch by Tom Talbott

The red-breasted nuthatch is always a welcome sight (or sound). Their intensity is visible in their eyes as well as their song: a nasally, nagging, monotonous, repeated neigh…neigh…neigh… that gives away to quiet pips and squeaks. We get the occasional visitor to our yard and it is always a joy when I get a chance to photograph them.

There are quite a few groups for birds you should check out for entering this lovely shot

  • Thanks kalaryder. Do you have particular groups you recommend?
