Currently living in Australia, I was born and grew up in Norway, where I lived until I was 19. My childhood and teenage years had the usual challenges that most people go through, but these years instilled in me an urge to go and explore and experience the world outside Norway. At 19 I decided to leave my childhood home to do exactly that – to go out into the wide world to study for my degree in psychology. I ended up on the Gold Coast, in Australia, where I settled in to pursue my degree in psychology.
Many years later, I am now trained as a Psychologist having earned my Master’s degree in clinical psychology. However, some time ago, after spending a couple of years working in the field, I made the choice to leave the psychologist profession, growing tired of the politics and low integrity that has unfortunately consumed the profession. Now, I don’t claim that psychologists are bad people, quite contrary, most psychologists are very capable professionals and well skilled at what they do. The problem, however, was that I found myself repeatedly being pulled into different political games within the profession. I’ve always been quite outspoken about matters that I see as being unfair or less than ideal, and combined with my willingness to stand up for my opinions and what I believe in, I often found myself as the target of criticism by my peers, and thus later becoming a target of various black-painting campaigns by some few peers with low personal and professional integrity. Though I endured these negative aspects of my chosen profession for long time, and mostly walked away from most battles victorious, eventually I made the decision that I no longer had a wish to be part of these negative aspects of the psychologist profession. Thus, I moved myself out of the psychologist and counseling area and pursued other directions in life.
I now run my own consultancy and public speaking business, teaching and helping people achieve success in their lives, utilizing my knowledge of the human mind and its powerful effects on our physical body and the environment around us.
During times when I’m not working, which turns out to not be very often, I sometimes sit down and let my other creative sides come out through writing poetry and essays.
