5×7 Acrylics on canvas panel. Inspired by the fairy tale of the Fishwife, and the song “Molly Malone.” This piece was included in the Daily Paintworks “Help Japan” challenge, which was a charity auction that raised money to aid Japan after the recent tsunami and earthquake. Wow. I wish I understood acrylics better. This is great!
Thanks Ellen! A few things: they dry brush really well, especially on a rough canvas, like Everlast, which is what this one was painted on. That way you can control edges. Also, I add matte medium instead of water to thin them. Scumbling is also a good way to blend, especially light over dark.
Congrats on your feature, nice work!
Thanks so much for featuring “Fishwife” in Acrylic painting and in “Painted Ladies.” Deeply appreciated!
