Part 6 of a new series of mixed media/collage artworks based on the birds that I see in & around my neighbourhood on the daily walks I take with my dog. These are just some of the birds we’ve seen on the days we walk along the river.

They are not drawn to scale (in relation to one another), in actuality, the largest is the Pelican (around 160cm), then the Black Swan (130cm), then the Cormorant (approx 60cm), then Crested Tern & Pied Oystercatcher (50cm).

Polyfiller & cracked black pepper, pastel & conte on brown paper (for the backbround)…..then conte, pastel & biro (for the birds)…which are then hand cut & collaged onto background….28/4/2013.

Another remarkable work for this collection Thea
the depth of field you keep achieving is preemo!!!
and love that tern…they are so comical to watch

  • Wow, thankyou Rich….so glad you think so! Everytime I’ve seen the Terns, they’ve been huddled on the jetty (from the wind)…so am yet to see their shinnanigans. I do like their ‘terny’ uppy tails though ;)
