Exposure was 10 seconds at an ISO 0f 800

getting out of town, away from any light pollution was the most important factor for getting a shot like this.

Great shot Peter. The only time I saw this comet was when I was out on the water in a tinnie with no camera. Every other night it was too overcast to see it. I was disappointed I didn’t get to photograph it but it was pretty fantastic to see. It gets you thinking about how amazing the universe is when you see something like this. I’m glad you were able to capture it so well.

This is one of the most stunning McNaught’s I’ve seen. The clarity of the comet against the stars is extraordinary and it is so beautifully composed.
