Cephissus Falls, Pine Valley, Tasmania, Australia.
Pine Valley is located in the lower half of the Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park in Tasmania.
A still day is required to produce the creamy waterfall effect when combining leaves and branches into the image as well – a tiny amount of motion on the leaves would have prevented me being able to produce the result I desired.
To return here in Winter would reveal a deeper green to the moss, and likely, a greater water flow. Regardless, I am very happy with its composition and exposure and it is indeed one of my favourites.
Update – I have printed this image at A2 size and it looked fantastic – indeed I sold that image and it will be enjoyed by the residents of an aged care facility here in Tasmania.
This is a 6 second exposure at f22, ISO 100, 18mm lens. You need at least a couple of seconds to really capture the soft feel of a waterfall.
