Climbing Mt Ossa, Tasmania by

The world can be seen from the top of Mt Ossa – Tasmania’s highest mountain.
The climb up to the top of this majestic mountain can be just as rewarding.

The Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park is most famous for the mountain for which the park shares its name.
It is a park that is also widely known for one of the great bushwalks of the world – the Overland Track.

Certainly looks like you had a beautiful day! I can imagine the climb might be more difficult without the snow?
I rarely have people in my images, but this is a great example how a person can add scale and a new dimension to a photo.

  • Yes, I have another image, same scene, no footprints, no person. It looks boring in comparison – no idea how big those boulders are.
I also have a portrait shot of this image, done with wide angle, so the footprints lead down low in the snow – a better aspect I think, but I only found redbubble 3 days ago and uploaded some pictures for a calendar I have order to see what they’re like, hence the landscape aspect. Now I have the arduous task of going through all my photos and finding the ones I think deserve to be on this site. Not an easy job, too many to choose from!

Thanks for your kind comments, glad you like them.

Beautiful shot Adam, not sure how I missed it before now.
I also like the figure and tracks to the top for some scale and perspective.
Please tell me you didn’t make the poor girl run up there for the shot, and then back down to get your pack?!
