As I sit alone at night.

As I sit alone at night,
I wonder where you are,
I wonder if you think of me,
Although you are so far,
I start to think,‘What could have been,’
And then I think, ‘What was’,
And all the things that ‘should have been,’
And why they weren’t. ‘BECAUSE.’
I was such a stupid fool,
To walk away that night,
To leave you standing all alone,
I was overcome with fright.

As I sit alone at night,
I wonder where you are,
I wonder if you think of me,
Although you are so far,
I wonder what I’d say or do,
If you should ever phone,
That, is what I think about,
As I sit here alone.

As I sit here alone at night,
I try inside my tears to fight,
I wonder what on earth to do,
After all I put you through,
I wish that I could make it right,
As I sit here alone at night.

As I sit here alone at night,
I wish, I WISH, with all my might,
A wish, I hope, will soon come true,
That one day, I can be with you,
But wishing doesn’t make things right,
As I sit here, alone at night.

As I sit here alone at night,
My memories fade out of sight,
And as I think of what ‘could be,’
I know it won’t be you and me.
So,
I say, “Goodnight, sleep tight,”
And think of me , alone, tonight.

As I sit alone at night.
