INNOCENCE
This has been inspired by the writing of Suzanne German About the use of Children as Art Objects entitled ‘A CHILD’S VOICE’ As I read I saw this image. I have managed to get it down in digital form. It was too important to let it go so at 2.45 am I have finished and am uploading now.
All work on this site is being sold for the Phoenix appeal.
This will be for as long as is needed.
I live in Englad now but lived in Australia for ten years,
while growing up and have family out there.
They are safe.

Tracy, you have captured a heart=stopping moment here, when the life of this child and his family could just turn on a dime, as they say. There is that single instant where he could either retrieve his teddy and his mom’s hand and go sublimely on or when he could be swept away by the crowd and life as he knew it will never be the same. Great job.

Exactly, all those words and one picture. I saw it as a painting but needed to get it down quickly. Thank you.

it was an image conjured while reading, maybe a better way to get inspired.

this is just great … reminds me of standing at the post office queue with my mum when i was a small boy … one day i pulled away to look at something and my mum was forever reminding me not to do this … so she stood out of site and let me panic a little while watching me though i couldn’t see her … i can tell you i never did that again … i think this along with my father taking me fresh water fishing taught me PATIENCE among other things …. isnt it amazing how an image provokes memories and thoughts … thanks for sharing this … straight to my faves

Thank you. I am rather proud of this although I am making a rendering in paints. It is the image that works, a decisive moment and all innocence is lost.

Strange ‘cos the child has a rather less than innocent expression on his face. I guess it is just the way I see it…

I never said he was innocent,
