Please imagine yourself in early 1940 in wartime England. The smaller boy is a wartime evacuee, who has been sent out of one of the big cities to a smaller town to avoid the heavy bombing. The taller boy’s family will be looking after him until the war ends and they have just met him off the tram. Well , that’s the feeling I was trying to create anyway.
I saw the two boys at a 1940’s re-enactment wedding at Lytham and the background was taken at Beamish Museum. I blended them together with several textures of my own in CS3 and Topaz Adjust and Simplify and added an Orton layer.

I thought I recognised Beamish here! I love going there! A superb image here, well done!
Thank you Carol, I’m not sure whether I like Blists Hill better than Beamish, but this background was perfect for the theme.
