A meal for the heart or stomach? Both? Unlikely, unlikely considering the meat on this plate will burn one, fill the other and leave me satiated. You should know something about being satisfied dear. No more meat at breakfast, I don’t want to say it again.

I could grant you this credit but it would be murder Stevens. I would be murdering your children’s father because you’re not smart enough to be a business man. You’re just smart enough to be a farmer, with a dead farm as collateral. Credit is slavery and you would make a poor slave.

7:45 pm
You’re malignant and I’m trying, again, begging. I could have died of exhaustion today, that’s how hard ‘I’ work. Could you’ve died from the television? I hope not, there would be an epidemic in America!

The bed grumbled. He had eaten three times that day and was not full.

    I really liked this but not so sure about the change of narrative at the end

    I find this fascinating. I think I understand but keep re-reading to find clarity. I think the change at the end does throw me a bit but I agree you need something along those lines to bind.
