August Evening
This was taken in the middle of August in northern California, and is not snow. It was a hail storm. I was on the edge of it when it fell and walked about two miles to this like where I spent the night. I scraped up about two inches of ice to find the ground and slept in this depression with the hail that I had moved on all sides of me, needless to say it was a bit chilly. In the morning in about another two miles I had left the ice behind but looking back could see the white hills. Very strange.
