Forester Pass Seen from the North

See that little notch to the right of the peak in the middle of the ridge? That is Forester Pass and the course that the Pacific Crest Trail takes to get over this range. I was standing on top of it several hours before I took the picture and comprehending it all, the snow and forest that I had just walked through, the river flowing at my feet that was born in the course of my passage, the worlds that had shifted in the place of just a few short hours, I was flabbergasted. It is difficult at times to remember how local our surroundings are, how quickly they can change into something completely and totally unfamiliar.
