Harbour daydream

The water laps against the wall
Hazy sun creates a mirage where earth meets sky
The smell of the sea and the seagulls call
There’s no surprise – I felt so high
Magic moment abandoned in time
You were there but not close enough
To hold your body close to mine
To share the warmth that came from above.
I fantasised about making love on a shore
The sea sensuously rippling over our feet
That our only devotion was that of amour
And only our passion created the heat.
In dreams I am there – no bother, no strife
With you my love I’ve no reason for caring
Could there be a more perfect life?
Beautiful bodies were made for sharing.
