Field and barn in South Glastonbury, CT

I had planned to take some landscape photos of this area after work so that I could catch the light as the sun went down. Remembering to bring my camera to work was a victory in and of itself and I couldn’t wait to get out there. The day turned rainy and I thought it would be a waste of time to still scope out the area.
Turned out I was wrong. What I discovered is that I liked everything better through the cloudy sky because it seemed to intensify the colors and added great mood. I’m not sure how people take pics in the rain (do you use a cover for your camera??) – so I proceeded to slowly drive around, pull over with my blinker on, roll down my windows and twist my body in funny ways to try to get the angles and pics I was hoping for. At one point the rain turned on me and came beating in through the window I was looking out of – so I quickly rolled up and shot through the window – and liked it very much. That is how this shot came to be. It makes me feel calm, safe and peaceful.

I really like this, love the way you have thought of capturing this through a wet window and gives it a really soft look.

Please would you add the camera you have used and the lens, as it asks for these in the D90 group rules and then i can add it into thegroup. Thank you. : )

  • Thank you – and please forgive me. As soon as I checked the box for the group and hit ‘save changes’ I knew I’d forgotten to include that information – but I didn’t know how to take it back. LOL
I hope the info I’ve added is good – do I need to resubmit?

  • forget my question…i think i do need to resubmit. :)

Hi that is okay will accept it into the group. If you need to go back and add things to your images or writting if you go to edit under the image it will let you go back to make changes in the written work. I have to do this a ,lot as i think quicker then I type so sometimes i have mixed letters up so i have to go and edit it again. Hope this helps.

Great capture of the raindrops on the window but also love the barn in the background. Excellent work Tania!! (I know exactly what you mean about remembering to take your camera to work. I’ve recently starting doing the same thing actually. However I leave my ‘backup’ camera (my little Leica) in my purse since there have been days (many I’m afraid) on my way to work when I’ve realized I’ve forgotten my digital SLR – a.k.a the Big Kahuna! lol It is a peaceful capture indeed. I think rain is calming no? (At least I find it to be…) Love it Tania!

  • we’ve got to lug our cameras to our real jobs for now….until the fantasy ones take shape…lol. :)
