Pastel on paper, from my earlier series, Watching. (actually a self-portrait with a blonde wig on) Another work i will be rephotographing when i get a better camera, so if anyone is interested in larger prints of this, let me know.
love how you’re 1/2 hidden.Beautiful work.but you knew that already huh :-) google VR Morrison babe I think you’ll love her.Apparently she only did the exact same courses I’ve done/am doing!!
thanks for the tip – will check her out! this was one of the first times i felt that i got hair right with pastel. this was the picture where i worked out how to really do it. this whole series was about voyeurism and the act of observation. i had a lot of fun with it. how did you get that framed print embedded in here like that – i love it!

Wow , another great piece !! Well done !
thank you! so nice to hear from you, and happy you like this! : )
very good, flawless, even! My mom used to have 6 wigs, different colors and styles. The neighbor hated it; he couldn’t use the grown-ups’ bathroom because he couldn’t stand “all those women” (the wigs on stands) looking at him while he went pee. Still makes me laugh, 40 years later!
that’s funny. you’ve got to love a good wig i say…a good one, yes. for fun. who doesn’t like dressing up once in a while? : )
LOL, I have a couple, myself. Once I put on a blonde wig and rode the bus up from Palm Desert to L.A. to meet my best friend from college. I walked right up to her, and she kept leaning, trying to see around me to look for me. I had to call her name several times before she realized it was coming out of the blonde in front of her. On top of that, I looked really funny as a blonde— my skin didn’t go well with the hair at all! I’d probably wear a long, pink one, but people already tend to wonder about me! ROFL!
yeah i look weird in a blonde wig too, unless, like here, i have lovely yellow skin! my regular ice-blue pallour doesn’t really work well with it. ; )

Wo she’s spooky – I’d be mighty uncomfortable if she were watching me…… You’ve really captured a strong feeling here! Great work!
yeah, some people had the same reaction when it was exhibited. found it a bit scary. lucky the guy who bought it knows me, and knows it’s only me fooling around in a wig. ; )

This would be the view that unwelcome visitors know best? Half a face through a half open door?
i like to make pics ambiguous and open to interpretation..this whole series was about people in the act of watching…our voyeuristic tendencies…unwelcome visitors i peer at through the peep hole, silently…..
