hey i had a funny dream about you this morning: that i met you at a shopping centre and you had a “difficult teen” child with you. you were very annoyed cos they were refusing to turn 16. they just refused. you were also upset cos they had adopted some fad current among teens in this dreamworld, and had all their limbs and head removed. leaving only a surly, dependant torso. i was trying to say something encouraging and supportive, and when i turned to look, you had run away and left me with the torso….

Perfect. In fact, it could be used as a potential Big R relationship tester. If the lass of your desires doesn’t see the humour or wisdom of this then it’s time to cut ya losses and walk away.
Mind you, I tend to be a bit “tuned into” this issue. A large carving knife coming at your gut has that effect on a bloke. (The profoundly stupid words I uttered immediately before that life-flashing-before-my-eyes moment was: “Oh don’t be silly, you just have PMT!”)
An older and wiser Col has eliminated that sentence from his lexicon and always knows where the chocolate is.
