Tania Donald
Profile
I am a largely self-taught artist who has been exhibiting around Melbourne over the past ten or so years. I have had a bit of a hiatus recently, but now I am inspired again!
Exhibitions include FAD Gallery, WAX Studios, Room, I was invited to be part of the inaugural car-themed art show at the Melbourne International Motor Show, and I also was featured artist at Richmond’s Autumn Sun Festival a few years back.
My work has been profiled in the Melburnian, Rabelais, Herald Sun, Age Good Weekend, Beat, Mx, Concierge, Our People, Motor Show Guide, and is the subject of a forthcoming article by Peter Holmes, “Tania Donald and the Suburban Gothic.”
I have studied mosaic and scenic arts painting techniques with Suessy Circosta.
My favourite medium is pastel, and I love photo-realism and vivid, close-up detail.
I also enjoy paint, and other styles including cartooning, which I used in my series “Confessions of a LIttle Lady.”
I am currently working on pet portraits (and accept commissions for these), and experimenting with a new style which I call Faux-zaics – painting with a tesselated look.
I hope you enjoy my work.
Thanks for coming by.
T : )
p.s. some of my jokes are a bit on the saucy side – I blame too many Carry On films as a youngster – so if this isn’t your thing…check out my dog and people portraits, they’re not rude at all. ; )
