As a young girl, I didn’t feel I had much power, strength or control over my life.
the year this song came out, girls were still not allowed to wear pants to school. And even though i lived in a cold snowy winter area…still the dresses….

This song really made me feel empowered everytime I heard it!! ANd I am quite sure many women the world over felt the same…

And so, I dedicate this artwork to the songwriter Lee Hazlewood and song artist Nancy Sinatra, for helping all women who heard it feel more empowered over their own lifes!

It was released in February 1966 and hit #1 in the United States and United Kingdom Pop charts.
