MY ART PROFESSOR by Tammera

This is a very quick sketch of my art professor….(so many years, I can not remember his name)

The class was in 1978 at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, Figure Drawing 2….so funny how I do remember those details and not his name…

Although I do know he was a famous courtroom artist in San Francisco as well as a professor.

He had a great influence on opening me up to expressing my art in a free and flowing, albiet quick sketch style…

I did this piece of him during a 5 minute break.
I think his name was Brody…

I will have to send for my trancsripts to find out…. (?)

Old age…what a thrill as the memory goes huh?…..

update: May 25, 2011
…And now, on a sad note for me….
I have just found out that indeed My Professor’s name was Mr. Howard Brodie (accidentally mis-spelled above), …
….and now for the sad part, in finding out about Mr. Brodie, I aslo found out that he had passed from this life last year in September at the age of 94.

But he was indeed a very famous courtroom artist and very well regarded as a teacher (at The Academy of Art in San Francisco), as well as a friend…

Please find out more about this great man who had huge influence on my art and perception of it as well as life, here:
