This piece is representational and abstract of the way I see my dad, This is one of my favorite pictures of him. he is sitting in his living room and relaxing. He is healthy and at peace. Having fullfilled his life of being a father and a firefighter.

This piece depicts my father as going between the firestation and home. He worked 24 hr shifts every other day and then after 3-4 on, he would be off for 4 days.

The red baloon represents him floating between 2 homes…as the firehouse was his second home. He would always come home from work and tell us tales about all the happenings at the firehouse. And he deffinately has a way with story telling… About who was doing what and all the little buddy pranks between the guys…who were his “brothers in arms”.

I have always love hearing the tales about things going on about the firehouse. He was always respectful in his stories and usually they held a lesson or two for us!!

I love the color of my dads eyes, they are a beautiful baby blue and, as this photo when re-worked, did not emphazize his blue eyes as I wanted….the blue spot below his one eye is representational my love of his eyes, as well as my true blue love for him.
