Artist's Description

I have done this piece of artwork in dedication to Alphonse Mucha, one of my favorite art nouveau artists. He is an inspiration not only for his wonderful and natural style, but also because of the way he has portrayed women of the early 1900’s in such a strikingly beautiful way.

I have endeavored here to give one of Mucha’s pieces a strong and spiritual radiance, as being both a part of his work and from within the woman herself.

“He declared that art existed only to communicate a spiritual message, and nothing more; hence his frustration at the fame he gained through commercial art, when he most wanted to concentrate on more lofty projects that would ennoble art and his birthplace.”

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

ALTHOUGH MUCHA WAS NOT AN ARTIST ALIVE IN THE 60’S. HIS ARTWORK DID ENJOY A LARGE RESURRGANCE IN THE 60’S ART WORLD. ON POATERS AND CALENDARS AND T SHIRTS ETC.
