Artist's Description

He’d known her since they were just ten
And that is where their story began

They were best of buddies, best of friends
He couldnt understand why it had an end

They’d race to the creek in the summertime
And whomever lost had to pay the dime

High school sweethearts and everyone knew
It was to each other, they would always stay true

They married and saved and soon could pay
Their own little spot, for their own precious way

He was so nervous, he prayed in church
That day to be healthy when she would give birth

But the day was not to be, it came such a shock
When his woman and boy, to this world were lost

He turned away his face in anger from God
And believed against him, he had used his rod

He bristled and burrowed and called out in hate
How is God loving when he deals out this fate?

Years watching others, he passed them alone
As his heart harddened and turned fast to stone

Then once she did come, in middle of night
He loved her so well, it didnt give him fright

The room was filled with such radiance and love
As she told him all this was sent from above

Then she reminded him the love they once had
And to hold on to hate, did nothing but bad

She spoke to his heart, made him understand
This was the hardest, he would do as a man

Release of her, she said, and release of hate
Was the true miracle that would change his fate

Change him from that man made of stone
Move him forward, that he wont be alone

The love he felt was made of such power
That this he decided in that very hour

The very next day he would go to their tree
Then finally release her and set himself free
