The Royal Family
Penguin may come from the Latin pinguis, “fat”
I wanted to do something fun and easy after the last painting. I had fun with this and it didn’t take a lot of time to do. I know there isn’t tons of details but I needed a break from intense. I experimented with the ripples under their feet. I’ve always loved penguins, the way they walk makes me laugh.

wonderful painting Tammara. Just one comment about the word “penguin”. In a historical account of Sir Francis Drake’s secret voyage around the globe (circa 1577) the author claims that the Welsh seamen named the bird by describing it white shirts which in Welsh is “pen gwinns” . Don’t know how true that is but quite interesting.
