Into the Wild Blue Yonder
Just playing with Photoshop. From the original image Lady Washington.
I selected the ship, deleted the inverse, filled the image with black, added two solid color layers with a gradient on one, and added a line for the horizon.

Unusual and effective work, of one of my favourite themes – old sailing ships!
Makes a fine blue monochrome.

Great idea! I like the large negative space. I think the thin line of the horizon plays very well in achieving a balance between positive and negative spaces. Outstanding!
