They sit in (or under) our barberry bush & pick at what ever the chickadees & titmice & cardinals drop. I put a little mixed seed out for them from time to time, & they seem content…. One of the prettiest of the sparrows, these. Grand shot, Dave… all those textures! Cold enough for you? Just wait.
thanks Sheila. Spending hours in an open field trying to get a shot of the local Snowy Owl in definitely cold although it looks like we could get some warm weather shortly. I think my feeder is being overrub by Junco’s but that’s ok because they are cute little birds
I call our local residents Slate-colored juncos, though when push comes to shove (& there’s a lot of that under the barberry bush), they are all Dark-eyed critters.
