The building on the left side is the gristmill, which was built in 1872. The building on the right side of the creek is a sawmill

nicely done. I really need to figure out how to get to the base of these falls without breaking any bones.

    thanks Brock
I was there last weekend also and finally got the nerve to go down the rope. It was much easier than I thought but it’s still not the safest thing to do when you are by yourself, which I was. On the way back I followed the stream down and came up a pathway.. The only hard part was getting past the lower falls. It is beautiful down there

Love this one, Tallow. It really captures the spirit of rural Ontario, of Upper Canada.

    thanks David
I seem to say this on all my photos but what I am seeing on Firefox is not the image I am seeing in Photoshop. The image should have red buildings but when I view it in firefox the buildings are brown and the photo is very dull. This is very frustrating

    thanks for your comment David

In reply to your response to my comment, Tallow, I am noticing the same thing. Images I have uploaded that are vibrant and alive on my computer screen with Lightroom or Photoshop, are flat, colorless, and dull. This is a new experience for me, and wonder if it has to do with recent changes to RB.

  • Tallow replied

thanks David. It’s very frustrating because the photo people are viewing and commenting on is not something I am proud of

you are definitely right…..the colours are not the same as on the other site…..the colours there are much more vibrant than on here

Great capture. Marvellous POV and the long exposure of the falls really adds to the effect. Please keep us posted if you find out anything.

  • Tallow replied

thanks Mike. I sent an email to RB and they told me they would look into it and get back to me

what an amazing, amazing capture!!!!!! Dave .. this is so beautiful … fabulous composition … you’ve got it all happening from this wonderful silky water fall to the lovely old red and white buildings AND fall color!!!!! WOWOWOWOW!!!!! Faved, of course!!!! And congratz on your Feature!!! Now don’t forget Mills and Mines !!

  • Tallow replied

thank you very much Lois. It was tough getting this shot. Every time I went there the sun was out and it was too dull. I also made a dangerous journey to the bottom of the fall by rope but I really haven’t looked at the photos too closely to see if anything is worth posting. I think I may need to go back before the colours change. Thanks for the group link
