American Falls at night

I promise that when I get a perfect shot of Niagara Falls I will stop posting these photos :-) Anyway, I made another trip to Niagara Falls tonight hoping to get a closeup shot of the Horseshoe Falls. Unfortunately the wind was blowing the mist towards the camera so I had to change my plans and shoot the American falls. As you can see the river is just about frozen over below the falls.

As a side note. The walkways were a sheet of ice and I fell 3 times. Camera is still intact but I may have a few bruises in the morning

Even though this was unplanned, I love it! I love how you have composed the shot such that the casino’s lights in the background, match up with the ones shining on the water…gorgeous! I went there last summer, and it was so HOT…strange to see it looking so cold!!

This is so unusual. I love this image. Surely it should be entered into more groups. Back to the photo…what a wonderful effect you captured. Glad to hear you and your camera survived your encounter with icy walkways!

This is pretty special. Sorry to her you fell over. :-( I always wanted to go when it was icy like this. I always wondered if it was safe to go down onto the ice and take a shot from there?
