Robin Hoods Bay, Tilt Shift.
An old photo of Robin Hoods Bay that I tried to give the Tilt Shift effect.. I like the result, but I need more suitable subject matter in my portfolio, such as street scenes from above…. It’s only done for a bit of fun. I think it looks better when seen large, the people and cars look more like models..well that’s the idea :-)

Very effective, TG. This is something I’ve wanted to try myself for some time but never found the right shot to do it with.

Great work. How is tilt-shift done? Is it just adjusting the depth of field? I’ve been interested in this for a while. Nice work though, the effect works nicely here.

Joel,
thank you.. this is what is called Fake Tilt Shift, it’s manipulating a photo in Photoshop. This seems the most common way. The other way is with a special lens, costly..
Fake Tilt Shift is basicly, up the saturation of the colours to make them look newly painted rather than real, masking off an area and blurring the rest.
Have a look at this Tutorial, it’s easier than it first seems. Getting the right subject matter is the most important, looking downwards on the subject is best. Hope this helps :-)
