Falling Foss, square crop.

Falling Foss, square crop.

This shot, at the time, I thought would be the best of my mornings photo’s… I actually blew it, having just changed lenses I forgot to reset the AEB and hadn’t realised the camera was set to AV instead of TV. This is what happens when you’re standing halfway up a steep muddy bank trying not to end up at the bottom again. The concentration was on staying up top and not on what I was doing with the camera. I also didn’t notice a twig blowing about across the front of the camera, it took some cloning out. Wasn’t quite happy with the portrait shot so I tried a square crop.. thought it works better. I’m sure when Rob gets his version of this shot processed it will be much better :-)

Just above Falling Foss there’s now a lovely cafe, Midge Hall.. they did an excellent job of bringing the old derelict shooting lodge back to life and are working very hard at making it a succes.. good luck to them :-)

Taken with a Canon 5D in the North York Moors National Park near Littlebeck.
