Water Ark Waterfall, Orton, square crop..

It may seem daft, but I’m posting this photo to see if you enjoy steam engine noises??? Just above from where I took this photo of Water Ark Foss is a railway bridge belonging to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. On my way back from the falls I stopped alongside the railway line and took a video… the video is poor, my compact camera needs a grad filter so the skies don’t get blown out… but, I think the sound is just lovely… almost perfect..

Water Ark Foss is one of two lovely small waterfalls between the villages of Beckhole and Goathland on the North York Moors National Park. The other waterfall is Thomason Foss. I’ve watched a heron fishing down here and seen what look like trout ( could be small salmon ) trying to leap up the falls. It’s a lovely hidden valley with out too many visitors, lets hope it stays that way :)

    gorgeous image … I love the lighter golden hues right above the water … it really helps draw the eye in .. and then of course there are the extraordinary falls themselves!!!! WOWOOWOWOOW!!!! Now off I go to listen to your steam engines … and yes, I adore them as well!!! Whole family was train oriented on my dad’s side!!!! CHOO CHOOOOO!!!
