Roseberry Topping.
I decided tonight might be a good night for a sunset on the Topping, after an hours drive I arrived near the base about 8 o-clock. I was unsure where the best spot to be was, having never recced it before… By this time the sun was setting, and any clouds I had hoped for, dispersed. I never really saw a good angle, not enough time, this one caught my eye. Using my Sigma 70 – 300 lens, I managed to foreshorten the foreground, squeezing in the bluebells, fields and the yellow of the gorse in flower. I need to try again soon, the bracken was beginning to show and the bluebells won’t be there for much longer.

I love the lines & layers of land in this shot as well as the eye candy colours, but come off it Roseberry topping aint a place …it’s just got to be something you put on an icecream :-)

Excellent Alan, I like the use of telephoto to draw all those lovely layers in…....it’s dream Topping!
I’m going up there tonight if you fancy it. I’m waiting for a new modem at home so I’ll be off-line (at home) for a week or so (shudder).

We’d make a fortune selling ice cream up there on a hot summers day…......not sure about getting the ice cream van up there….......helicopter maybe :-)
