Nazarello by Richard Jones
Travelling in Timor-Leste with a gang of kids, orphans from the civil war. Nazarello would play hide and seek with the camera. Eventually it dawned on me that I could frame an ‘empty’ shot and he would suddenly appear in it, from out of nowhere, often with a fine understanding – somehow – of my composition. I gave him the camera and he took some of the best shots I’ve seen.

G – thanks for yr comment. I’m going to collect any comments and take them back to the kids in Timor in about a month. They’ll be amazed and thrilled that a foreigner sees the photos and likes them.
