Midnight Feast by Tainia Finlay
Clear

I just captured this little Possum & though not exactly midnight here it is raining, freezing in fact.

I’m not sure what age a young one is pushed out the nest to fend for itself, this one I know has been, him & his mother visit separately now. He is starving, so hungry and can’t accept food & eat it quickly enough!

Perhaps well then that they have thick warm coats!

Congrats on your well desered featureTai … so pleased he is still visiting despite being de-nested! Lovely sharp image. I am amazed at how well they accept the camera.

  • Thank you kindly dear R :) He or she ? is a bit like a naughty adolescent at the moment, chased after my toes the other evening its all I can do to keep him out of the house! I probably shouldn’t be feeding him but he looks so cold & needy … I don’t suppose theres much fruit around at the moment either :))

Terrific photo Tai and the look on his face suggests that he is regarding you more as a food source than a possible threat. I remember when we spend a month in the caravan park at Wagga back in ’83 the possums would come down the neighbouring tree every evening and try to get into our caravan!
    Take care
    Hugs

  • Hello Peter, your comments made me smile, the thought of you & Betty fending off marauding possums LOL! They are sweet but I imagine could do some damage if they got in! Hugs to you & Betty, Tai x

A beautiful shot Tania. He’ll be OK I think. Mum wouldn’t boot him out till she knew he could fend for himself.
