Back Then women were proper
Their dresses long
Men were the breadwinners
And very strong
A good woman stood home
And cooked the meal
It really didn’t matter
What she would feel
She fed her children
Did the chores
Actually did things
She did abhor
But the man didn’t care
He worked hard each day
And he felt what he said
Was the only way
Women were never
The aggressors
Because men were the law
Their oppressors
Back then life may have been simple
Everything was black or white
What men said
Was always right
Women married
Not to be old maids
And lived a life
With a shade
Covering their eyes
To what they could be
They never realized
Their ability
