I clung to your thought
like whiskey drops on a crystal glass
knowing this moment
would be gone as quick as night-time comes.

Watching inch by inch
tracing lines along each severed curve
left wanting for more
even though the light was fading out.

Slithering on skin
demons crawling out from every pore
tainted as they are
trying hard to capture moments past.

Quivering inside
energy beginning to push through
seeping into bones
heavy glow oppressing all around

Heartbeat slowing down
mercury set loose in hardened veins
time has come to feed
on remnants left to sour in the air.
