Artist's Description

The Blue Period (Spanish: Periodo Azul) of Picasso is the period between 1901 and 1904, when he painted essentially monochromatic paintings in shades of blue and blue-green, only occasionally warmed by other colors. These somber works, inspired by Spain but painted in Paris, are now some of his most popular works, although he had difficulty selling them at the time.

March 24, 2015.
I am trying to contact Taiche about her Picasso painting urgently. I have made a quilt wall hanging for myself using her painting and would like her permission to show it. I have attached a photo of my quilt. If I can display it I will acknowledge her as the original artist.

Thank you so much for helping me out. When we first saw your beautiful painting we knew it would suit the theme of the competition of True Blue. I have been running round in circles trying to contact you even to ringing the Turkish Embassy here.
The quilt took a long time to make. The largest picture on the quilt has 113 pieces of fabric in it and it took me 17.5 hours to construct and that was before I put all the picture onto the quilt. I have so enjoyed making it and it will have pride of place in my guest room.
Just to let you know that I was unsuccessful at the quilt show. The winners had stunning quilts so good on them. I am really pleased with myself having made the final 30 out of 98 entries and for my first attempt that is tremendous. I think my biggest thrill is having the quilt displayed at quilt shows around Australia and New Zealand. Thank you again for your consent.
Kindest regards
