A selection of private works that are not available for sale.
These works pay homage to my a few of my favourite masters, past and present.
While influential 20th century Europeans such as Picasso and Moore borrowed from traditional African art forms, recent 21st century Africans such as David Kibuuka have been influenced by masters of African traditional art and contemporary Western art.
David Kibuuka is one the founders of “Modern Batik Art Painting” in East Africa where he introduced “Fragmentation” technique to traditional Batik Art. This
modification added increasing background depth, broadness and a richer
palette of colors to the batik painting, allowing this novel fine art medium to yield control, detail and richness comparable to acrylic and water-color painting.

In this work of art taiche has paid homage to the painting of the Ugandan modern artist David Kibuuka.
Originally a batik painting, taiche has reworked this piece in her own style and medium whilst maintaining the serene and simple beauty of “Nakiyingi”.
In this painting I combined three of Kibuuka’s works and used my own colours. In fear of copyright infringement this work is not for sale
