Original has been sold to a collector in America.

Acrylic and impasto on canvas board.

10″ × 8″.

There are 3 images which are designed as a set as shown below.

I wanted to work more with a limited palette. I’ve always loved those old photos that are so full of dreamy softness and beautiful settings.

Image I used for reference is from the wonderful vintage stock of inspyretash-stock.

beautiful and I love the light and detail in the folds and mane Tahnja…just gorgeous..

  • Hugs….thank you for taking notice of those little things! It took a while to get the shadow and light just right in the soft fabric but once I did it so worth the layering

lovely painting, Tahnja. both subjects are very well painted. so you can finish three paintings per day in this size. lol.

  • faint….per day???…faint…LOL LOL nooooo, these took me about 20 hours I think. I still am NOT a fast painter even with a limited palette! lol…..Because I work and have to take care of other things I never have the time to sit down and finish something in one sitting. Also, the impasto medium I apply to the background is thick and takes quite a few hours to dry so what I usually do is sketch the piece, underpaint it, add impasto and then leave sit overnight then I can paint the next day.

If I was as fast as you and as good I wouldn’t stress so much about not having enough to sell lol lol

I think this one is my favourite of the three. The horse is quite majestic and the woman has this flapper hair bob look. Love it.

  • Really? oh wow, I love when you never know what will be someone’s favourite and it is always fascinating to me. For me I love the first one I painted, but I think it’s her long hair too! lol….yes, the ‘flapper’ was much more pronounced in the original photo, I softened it and added more highlights and really loved how it turned out. Also, the horse didn’t have a shoulder in the original which looked really odd so I had to add the shoulder which really made for a much more striking composition.

    Thank you always! love ya!

YOU should be proud such great series, and perfect colors as well, these are very beautifully done, YOU rock the Redbubble! :)

  • Oh Ming!!! I’m blushing! Thank you so much beautiful lady! I am so grateful that these have gone over so well. It’s a rather different technique for me but I wanted to experiment and was so happy with the result. I get so excited about art that I love to try new things and see how it feels when I do so.

Thank you again Ming for your awesome support and appreciation. I am SO grateful!

amazing, the first one in the series my fav, but the horse in this one looks like a real living thing coming out of the image – your art is on fire my friend.

  • The first one is my personal fav as well. The fact the horse in this one appears so real must be when I really connected with my great love of horses then…hehehe. Thank you Maddy! I feel on fire these days and am thoroughly enjoying the learning process with new techniques and applications
