Acrylic impasto on stretched canvas

8″ × 10″

Mustangs at play, in the wild, seems to evoke such a passion for freedom and oneness with nature. I love painting wild horses without any human contact as they are definitely very different in character and persona.

Lovely work Tahnja! Especially love the dynamic and graceful movement of the golden mane of the right fellow; reminds me of a lady flipping her hair – I guess the one on the left must be in awe :)

  • Haha love the comment of a lady flippingher hair lol..I like that! Though they are stallions and are fighting which is why I gave them my warrior stripes on their shoulders. And it takes a lot of angles to get the right one to catch the gold paint properly….but is so worth the effort coz the gold paint is my signature style and ties all my work together.
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment

Gorgeous, your horses just keep getting cooler and cooler. Love the textures and bits of gold. Wonderful composition.

  • Thank you so much Cindy! That’s a wonderful compliment. I try to pick the best photos to suit what I like to paint and i’ve been very blessed that some of the greatest photographers permit me to work from their images.
Really appreciate your feedback my friend
