Indeed, I was aiming to convey Her sorrow and emotion more than in the original. Emotion is my driving motivation. If I can’t capture emotion adequately then I get very upset.

Oh Lynette, you are just the most gorgeous woman on earth…hugs…..it was certainly a lot of work. Many layers of colour and I learned not to thin the paint too much during the layering process then the paint beneath doesn’t lift! Lots of soft dry brushing between also helps to prevent lifting. I’m learning! hehehe

The details were strenuous. I did have a bit of a headache after I finished. Not use to detailing that much lol. Thank you so much for your great appreciation beautiful lady. Love you!

you have truly spoiled me Jacqleen! Thank you so much for what I consider one amazing compliment. I did indeed attempt to pour my whole heart into this piece and I wanted so much to make it much more emotional than the original. The thing is that I have always been very disappointed with a lot of old masters works. I LOVED their skill which is still way beyond my ability but the heart, the deep love and emotion was so often missing in the paintings. I always told myself that if I could ever be good at art that the one thing I wanted to capture was the heart and emotion that I felt and wanted to see in art….....so your compliment means so much!!!!!!

I was sad to see the painting leave my home and still miss it but it was a commission and belongs with the client…sigh…guess I will have to paint something similar for my home :o)

No, what you said is perfectly correct. Sometimes I get altogether too human and jump up and down and say “no, this painting is mine I tell ya!” lol lol but if the Lord really insists then of course He wins lol And so does Our Lady too.
