This is an older work from 2001. Oil Pastels on cardboard. My early inspirational output of my love of Alphonse Mucha. And as always, with work of that time, Stevie Nicks.

I just now started to play with oil pastels a little. I am not quite getting them, this is great…maybe I should try cardboard.

I have found they are easier to blend on something “harder” than paper. I tend to rub too hard and rip the page. It took me some time to feel comfortable with them…but it is kind of like paint on a stick for me. lol

Thanks Edzie…I can tell you, sometimes blending these oils can be a pain in the finger.
