Palomino Valley Wild Fire (The Ironwood Fire) by

Wild fires on the high desert are usually bad news. Saving homes are the priority. Many times the fires are left to burn out. This shot was published nationally by the Nevada Magazine (print version) in the article “Nevada Wildfires” page 68. Nov-Dec-2012. page 2 (feature) and page 72.

My post process attempt is to eliminate the difference in light and color dynamics my eyes see, verses what the camera sees. Perhaps some day our camera’s will see as our eyes do.

  • Hi Yool, yea this was a half mile from my house. It was scary at bedtime (not knowing if we’d have to evacuate).

Oh man! That looks like a scene from a fantastic movie. The disasters also have their beauty, but I wish they never happen. Glad to hear the people and their homes didn’t suffer too much. By the way, your works are amazing. Hold on my Nevada buddy. :)

  • Yes Arvyart it was a worrisome colorful experience but the story had a good ending. Thanks for stopping by Arvyart!!

    Beautiful but disasterous. Great shot.
