softish more pastel colors than I usually use..this painting has a real middle eastern flavour.. I guess that this is because my mother was a lebanese woman of great beauty , courage and humour…
I wanted this painting to have the feel of the middle east…and yet it’s painted in the west.. here in australia
so I feel that this is a beautiful east meets west idea.
I also think that this painting could be a part of my journey in daydreams to my
visions of biblical scenes..when I think of certain parts of the bible..pictures come up in my mind abstract yet seemingly real ..and this was one of them..
I think It was the biblical story about " the woman at the well" that first fired my Imagination in this one..though I also have 4 sisters..so It’s possible that this is connected with them as well ..and this could be three of them..?
I felt ..that there were other women around that day at the well..to witness the holiness of the christ ..
Looking through venetian blinds is a small acrylic painting
with a few layers of shellac which I mix up myself from those beautiful beetle saliva and wings …thankyou bettles for beautiful shellac! I added some extra light to this painting in photo shop as it was so very dark due to the many layers of laquer.I like the way some planets appear on her body as if she is looking through the blinds and the planets are reflecting back on her.

I really love this painting ! Catherine ..strong Biblical resting work ! Enchanting.Thrilled you liked my Leonard Paulxx
Thanks so much ..very kind of you ..I’m not too skillful with water colours (unlike you ).. so I was happy when this one turned out so well.. you would think it would be an easy transition from acrylic paints to water colour wouldn’t you?..but as you know it’s not just a matter of me watering down the acrylic paints..it’s a whole other process and one that I usually leave alone.. .. it was many years ago now..but one of my best semi/watercolours..hha!
much appreciated and so glad you like it .
