I’m glad you like it.. my oldest sister really liked this one too.. so it’s in the “hunter valley” n.s.w now.
there is some synchronicity here and where this painting went, and I think it’s so appropriate that “artemis” ended up in the “hunter valley” as she was a huntress according to legend and the patron goddess of hunters ..life can be suprising sometimes ! , many thanks again.

Looking through venetian blinds is a small acrylic painting
with a few layers of shellac which I mix up myself from those beautiful beetle saliva and wings …thankyou bettles for beautiful shellac! I added some extra light to this painting in photo shop as it was so very dark due to the many layers of laquer.I like the way some planets appear on her body as if she is looking through the blinds and the planets are reflecting back on her.

she went and had it framed in a very expensive italian frame..you might be able to see it here..I’m so glad that she wanted it ..now it gets to stay in the family..

This is my favorite from you.I like this style the best.Its a beautiful painting that has alot of character.You have doves and feathers in some of your paintings.What does it mean to you?

as for the doves and feathers..I’m really not sure but
could it be something from my childhood haunting me..?
I know that I loved birds when I was young..as our father gave us an appreciation for them..then one day I saw that our neighbour was always killing the sparrows that got into his chicken coop because they ate the chicken food..he would get a spade and go in and try to kill them all..some of them didn’t die but were mangled so I asked him to give them to me..it was very upsetting for me aged at about 11 or 12 and I remeber trying to fix their broken wings with toilet paper.. my god..it was my feeble effort to try and save them ..it was a sad memory ..so maybe that’s why I put birds and feathers..but that’s a big maybe.The man eventually moved and there is no chicken coop there now but that time is etched into my memory ..because sparrows are such tiny and sweet birds…and I can’t stand cruelty of any kind…especially to animals.

Thanks varry..I’m so glad you like this one..and yes my big sister really liked it too I was rather proud of my efforts at the time ..but I know that all around that time from 1991-1997 I seem to have turned quite a few goodies that I was really happy with . ..funny how we have some good easy runs with painting isn’t it.. and then other times it’s like climbing the mountain again..hhha!!
