I’m putting this painting here again ..this time without the frame as someone has enquired about a print but needed to see it without the frame around it..
I’m so glad that painting is well liked and has had such a good response

Please let me know if this needs even extra cropping I’m not sure really…I didn’t want to take too much off the edges incase it loses too much of the painting ..but this should be alright

    Thanks so much ..you’d be right about that and although I never copy any art and don’t feel too influenced by anyone great artists work..I have been influenced in this one by an old book that I looked at as a teenager called “masters of the japanese print”

    I was so in awe of the line work in that book that many years later ..touches of japanese would emerge in some of my paintings..especially in this one this painting looks very western but has a definite japanese influence.

    I like the long fingers. I’ve noticed how many great players of stringed instruments have long fingers. I don’t know if they develop long fingers from constantly playing, or whether they choose to play a stringed instrument because they have the correctly shaped fingers for the job. I suppose it’s a “chicken or the egg” situation :)

    Thanks heaps dave..I tried to do the japanese style of finger from the old japanese prints that I loved so much as I was growing up..but it didn’t work and I refused to copy them or even look back at those old prints..hha!!..so I had to content myself with these ones cathy walker strange fingers..LOL

    ..but it worked anyway ..so I was happy with it even though those fingers could have been a lot better …I will have to do some finger studies soon I think..because they are difficult to paint
    well they are for me..

    painted quite a few years ago
    I do a few good ones every now and then..but the fire and inspiration are too few and far between sessions..hha!!
    I hope I get into that good mode and into a real creative high again very soon.
