IBM & the Holocaust by Synastone

Another one in my series on corporations complicit or profiting from the Holocaust. IBM supplied the Nazis with the very latest in automated bureaucracy, the Hollerith punch card machine, without which the production line of death that makes the Holocaust unique in the catalogue of human genocide would not have been possible. IBM continued to supply & service Hollerith machines to Nazi Germany after US entry into WW2 by trading through neutral Switzerland, & despite full knowledge of the use their equipment was being put to. Unspeakable sorrow… While it is safe to say that no one working at IBM is directly responsible for this most shameful and horrific episode in our history, it is also true that once we discover the sins of our fathers, man’s inhumanity toward man, we feel a certain responsibility for them. Acknowledging it is one simple step. If it is true, why not say it? Maybe the lawyers have advised them to keep mum on the subject.
Side note; here in the US, our Supreme Court has determined that corporations are people. Also, there is no statute of limitations for murder. So it follows that, if found guilty of complicity , IBM should be penalized as any person would be for their involvement in the systemic mass murder of innocent civilians.

IBM have actually been somewhat co-operative in opening their corporate archives to researchers -this is how Edwin was able to write his book. However, he told me there was one IBM archive which was absolutely off-limits, and no matter how much he tried, who he approached, he could not gain access. That was the IBM Polish archive from the years 1939-45. To my mind, what is contained there is not just accounts of IBM employees who witnessed abuse, maltreatment, hunger & disease in the camps, but damning evidence, not just of knowledge, but of active facilitation of the Final Solution. IBM employees must have been re-jigging the Hollerith machines to take account of the murdered. Edwin Black states with authority that the Final Solution could not have occurred without the assistance of IBM. Everytime I see that IBM slogan “making the world a better place” a chill goes up my spine….

You know what makes the whole thing even more disgusting & sick? The guys who were running IBM at the time weren’t anti-Semites. It was just about making money, profit and corporate greed. That attitude of who gives a fuck if they are dying on the other side of the world so long as we’re earning. We see it today….how many Iraqis are dead, and what’s it been, 70,000 Mexicans murdered in the war on drug users, or as it should really be known, the Organised Crime Subsidy . And that my friend is what we have to resist today, cos if they did it once, they sure as hell can do it again
