One thing you cannot deny is Nazis looked the part. That combination of chic style and utter ruthlessness is one reason their presence has resonated through the generations. And who was the fashion icon who turned made death fashionable in the 30’s? None other than an obscure Austrian tailor, who happened to be a fanatical and loyal Nazi Party member; one Hugo Boss of Vienna.

So, the next time you’re about to buy a Hugo Boss suit or shirt, remember that his tailoring empire got its break through other people’s misery & death, namely by producing SS uniforms using slave labour in the Nazi concentration camps. Hugo Boss did finally admit their founder’s connection to the Nazis in the 1990’s and paid compensation to those who were used as slave labour in his factories. At the same time they rebranded their BOSS logo from the original SS lightning flashes, to regular letters.

Facts somehow overlooked on the Boss website…!!
