I whisper as I wonder
And wonder as I wait
I’ve told you time and time again
And somehow still I have to wait
No word has ever held me bound
No love was ever lost or found
So daddy life is shorter now
It’s nearly time to take a bow
Do you love me with no just cause
To see me through my countless flaws
And when it’s over said and done
When no one’s left where do I run
From little girl hugs to lady love
I’ve grown into just who I am
Yet still I wait in dark despair
Wondering if you ever cared
A thousand words can’t paint one picture
Yet pictures paint a thousand words
But I feel alone and so afraid
From all the things I’ve never heard
So if you love me please let me know
Cause I love you more than you’ll ever know
Days pass by one by one—and I wonder
Would you love me as a son
I’ve sought you in the tears I’ve cried
And still days pass us by and by
So I pray this night upon my knees
I’m begging daddy, I’m begging you please
Just three words is all I need
To carry me through the rest of life
Just three words is all indeed
To save me from this silent strife
For Lisa G.
Do you love me through the silence?
Song lyrics…..
For my beautiful and infinitely gifted friend Lisa G.
Hope you love it sweetie.
Thanks for being who you are, lovable…....

Dear Steve,
I am deeply honoured that you have written this for me….you most certainly have captured my hearts desire…that which I’d love to hear from my father.
I shall cherish this always…
So heartfelt and beautiful…
Thank you kindly,
XO

I was moved by ‘A thousand words can’t paint one picture Yet pictures paint a thousand words’. That’s something heavy I’ll be pondering today. Excellent work.

Steve bud – First, you could not have written this to a nicer, more wonderful and beautiful person than Lisa!! Just another thing we see eye to eye on – ain’t she great!!!!!!!! The lyrics my friend are awesome – they say what every child needs to hear and see constantly – that they are loved. Your heart bud is one of a kind…... and man can you write!!!!!!

Not talking to my dad for 26 years & only for a short time before that I could barely get thru the poem. Your words spill like lava with as much heat. What an amazing dedication
Just beautiful sunshine XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Indicative of the many women left with a gaping hole in the absence of a fathers expressed and innate unconditional love.
Sadly a father unable to give that expression can be as a result of conditioning in his own childhood.
Sad too, when there hasn’t been a father around at all. In both cases the need in a child for a loving father remains, and the girl/woman sometimes will go to unhappy lengths to attract attention of males by way of compensation.
As always Steve, you write with a special awareness that is touching while conveying
a special loving warmth, man of heart.
I’ve been away from RB for a while Steve, glad to be back to see your writing. X

Meant to say, if it’s possible to forgive a parent and let go, can be the beginning of healing,
from hurting, especially if there can be some short times spent together,
where defensiveness is left behind.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate the great comment. I do get a little nervous using old cliches, but I love to put twists on some of them if they work.

I know, sorry to pile on the mush all the time, but when it comes to friends I love them so I tend to empathize as they hurt.
Thank you for the great comment Helene.
